Arrow’s dedicated supporters turned out in style this June for a fashionable fundraising event: a glamorous race day at Royal Randwick, hosted by the ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation. The event was part of their ongoing mission to raise vital funds for those in need, including the patients we support here at Arrow.

The crisp winter sun shone down on Royal Randwick, and the room was buzzing with excitement as guests enjoyed a full day of racing. As well as the racing, there was a delicious luncheon, a hilarious comedy act, followed by dancing to live music from Endless Summer, and of course an exciting Fashions on the Field competition which was a very tight competition with so many beautifully dressed attendees including two Arrow attendees nominated as finalists.

And the luck for Arrow supporters didn’t end there: The table won a $500 bet on race 8, the final race of the day. To keep things fair, the table nominated horses from the race, dropped those names into a glass and chose one at random: Horse number 12 Code In Time. With a possible $2000 up for grabs, everyone at the table was on tenterhooks for the whole race, but sadly Race 8 was won by It’s a Knockout. There was to be no win on the track, but there were plenty of wins in fun and good company.

We’re grateful to all who attended the day in support of Arrow. A special thanks goes to one of our generous attendees who donated a Samsung Galaxy phone to the silent auction held on the day. The phone sold to an anonymous bidder for $815, all of which will go directly to our patient support program.

Arrow is fortunate to once again be nominated as a benefiting charity of the fundraising events hosted by the ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation this year. All funds raised through this partnership will go directly to patients who are struggling under the weight of additional costs associated with their treatment.

Looking ahead, the next major fundraising event from the ASX Charity Foundation is the 2025 Markets Day for Charity taking place on 15th October. On this day, Australia’s financial markets will come together to raise funds for charitable causes. You can get involved too – by saving any share trading you have for this special day, when ASX and other major financial institutions donate their trading revenue to charity.
