Simone Jensen and Jessica Cheng at the Asia-Pacific Blood and Marrow Transplantation Group meeting in Singapore

Thanks to the generous support of the Hartog family and Jazz Pharmaceuticals, we were able to help two dedicated health professionals attend the Asia-Pacific Blood and Marrow Transplantation Group meeting in Singapore: Simone Jensen (who received the Sylvia Hartog Nursing Award) and Jessica Cheng (Jazz Pharmaceuticals Award).

Simone says that she is grateful to both Arrow and the Hartog family for their support to help her attend the meeting in October. She is looking forward to seeing the knowledge gained there enhance the care provided to bone marrow transplant patients, their families, and the unrelated donors that she and her colleagues in cancer care look after.

Dietitian Jessica Cheng said that there was a record attendance at the Nutrition Working group of the 29th APBMT congress in Singapore, with great interest in nutritional care of bone marrow transplant patients. She was able to share insights of the standard of care practices in nutrition support at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, and there was a lot of interest and discussion around how to improve or standardise food safety and dietary liberalisation to improve dietary quality and quality of life for transplant patients.

We join with Simone and Jessica in expressing our gratitude to the Hartog family and Jazz Pharmaceuticals.
