Shaun Rosen Scholarship recipients Stacey Koschel & Suzie Flynn

Meet Stacey Koschel and Suzie Flynn, the most recent recipients of the Shaun Rosen Nursing Scholarship . Thanks to the scholarship from Arrow, they will attend the Lymphoma Australia Health Professional Conference on Gold Coast in July 2023. The conference will cover topics such as updates in CAR-T nursing, wellness and mindfulness for both patients and nurses, palliative care, survivorship, being a better advocate for patients, and of course will also present participants with information on the latest and best practices in lymphoma treatments.
Suzie and Stacey are both highly skilled nurses, with over 15 years’ experience in cancer care, and are both keen to attend the conference to learn not only from researchers in the field of Lymphoma, but also from their nursing colleagues from other cancer care centres around the country.
Stacey says, “being able to network and collaborate with lymphoma experts from all over Australia and New Zealand will bring a wealth of information that I am then able to share with all my haematology colleagues throughout the St Vincent’s network.” In fact, both Stacey & Suzie are involved in staff education at St Vincent’s Hospital, and will share the knowledge gained at the conference with their colleagues through presenting at Nursing Grand Rounds and other types of staff information sessions.
As well as helping to educate other nurses, Suzie is also looking forward to what the conference will do to help her in her role with lymphoma patients. “Attending this conference will empower me as a nurse to ensure those living with cancer are well informed about their disease and treatment, enabling them to make educated decisions and improve overall quality of life.”
The scholarship will cover flights, conference registration fees and accommodation for both nurses.
Congratulations Stacey & Suzie on being awarded the Arrow Shaun Rosen Scholarship! We look forward to updates from you after the conference.
